Jesus said that he came that we might
have life and have it abundantly. His desire for us is that we
recognize Him as Lord of all, turn away from our life controlled by our
own passions, and live a life of righteousness. To live
righteously, He must be the one in us who lives through us.
Unless we are born again, my alive in Him, we are dead in our sin and
not alive to God.

24 “Strive to enter
through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and
will not be able. 25 When once the Master of the house has
risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at
the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say
to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ 26 then you will
begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our
streets.’ 27
But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from.
Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ 28 There will be
weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob
and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. 29 They will come
from the east and the west, from the north and the south, and sit down
in the kingdom of God. 30 And indeed there are last who will be
first, and there are first who will be last.”

1 Then all the tax
collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees
and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats
with them.” 3
So He spoke this parable to them, saying:
4 “What man of you,
having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the
ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until
he finds it? 5
And when he has found it, he lays it
on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together
his friends and neighbors, saying to them,
‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that
likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
The Parable of the Lost Coin
8 “Or what
woman, having ten silver coins, if she
loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search
carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she has found it,
she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice
with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ 10 Likewise, I
say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one
sinner who repents.”
